How Abroad Plan HQ handles contact details, site logs and optional Google Analytics, and how to accept, reject or withdraw analytics consent.

Abroad Plan HQ publishes planning information and tools for people considering a move to Spain. This policy explains what information the site processes, why it is processed, and the choices available to visitors.
Who is responsible
Abroad Plan HQ is the publisher and data controller for information submitted directly through this website. Privacy questions can be sent through the contact page.
Information collected automatically
The hosting provider may process IP address, browser type, device information, requested URL, date and time, and security logs to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. WordPress uses technically necessary storage for core functions and security. The site does not currently sell personal information.
Information you choose to provide
If you use the contact form, the site receives your name, email address and message. This information is used only to answer the request, investigate a correction or protect the site. Do not include passport numbers, immigration files, tax records, health information or other sensitive documents.
Optional website analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose “Accept analytics”. This applies to all visitors. Rejecting analytics leaves the guides and tools available. If you accept, Google processes page visits, browser and device information, and events for calculator use, checklist use and planning-pack download clicks. These events count actions; they do not tell us whether someone completed a move or finished reading a download.
Our measurement code does not send calculator amounts, checklist answers or contact-form text. It sends the page’s canonical address without query parameters and limits the referrer to its origin. Automatic form, site-search and download measurement is disabled. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish browsers; those cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. The consent choice is also stored for up to 180 days. Cookie expiry is separate from retention of data already collected by Google Analytics.
Use “Privacy choices” in the footer and then “Reject analytics” to withdraw consent. This removes the site’s analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the analytics code. Advertising and Google services
Abroad Plan HQ intends to use Google AdSense. If advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to deliver, measure and protect advertising. Third parties may place and read cookies in the browser or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving. Analytics requires an explicit choice through the site controls. Advertising consent remains denied; accepting analytics does not authorise advertising. Before personalized advertising is served to visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, Abroad Plan HQ will configure a Google-certified consent management platform.
Legal bases and purposes
- Site delivery and security: legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional publication.
- Contact requests: consent and the steps requested by the sender.
- Optional analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw through “Privacy choices”. Advertising is not enabled by this analytics choice.
- Legal compliance: compliance with applicable obligations and valid requests.
Retention
Contact messages are normally retained for no longer than 12 months unless a longer period is needed to resolve a correction, security issue or legal obligation. Security logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational schedule. Consent choices are stored in the browser for up to 180 days.
Sharing
Information may be processed by the hosting provider, email delivery provider, security services, Google Analytics when you accept analytics, and—if introduced—Google advertising services. Providers receive only the information needed to perform their role. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect users and the site.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the visitor’s country. Where required, appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses are used by the relevant provider.
Your choices and rights
You may reject analytics from the consent notice or through “Privacy choices” in the footer, and clear stored choices in browser settings. Depending on location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and may withdraw consent. Use the contact page and identify the request without sending identity documents unless specifically required.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning an international move and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.
