This page explains the browser storage used by Abroad Plan HQ.

Necessary storage

WordPress and security services may use storage needed to operate the site. The cookie aphq_analytics_consent_v1 records your analytics choice for up to 180 days. It is set when you accept or reject analytics, so you do not have to answer on every page.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose “Accept analytics”. Until then, our analytics code makes no requests to Google. “Reject analytics” leaves the guides, calculator, checklist and downloads available.

After acceptance, Analytics may set _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. We configure these cookies to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. Browser settings may shorten that period.

We measure page visits, calculator use, checklist use and clicks on the planning-pack download. Our events do not include calculator amounts, checklist answers or contact-form text. Automatic form, search and download measurement is disabled.

Advertising

Accepting analytics does not grant advertising consent. If Google AdSense is introduced, the advertising controls and this policy will need to reflect that setup. The current analytics notice does not replace a Google-certified advertising consent platform.

Change your choice

Open “Privacy choices” in the footer, then select “Reject analytics” to withdraw consent. The site removes its analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the analytics code. You can accept again using the same controls. Clearing site data in your browser also clears your saved choice and makes the notice appear again. Withdrawing consent does not automatically delete data already collected.
